The company operates from the United Kingdom and provides services to clients based in the UK and internationally, including clients with legal and business matters connected to India and other jurisdictions.
The company offers a range of business support services, legal support services, compliance assistance, documentation services and cross-border coordination services. These services are designed to support individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses, investors and corporate entities in managing legal-related processes, commercial documentation and regulatory requirements.
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is not a firm of solicitors and does not present itself as a law firm. The company operates as a legal and business support organisation, working in collaboration with appropriately qualified and authorised legal professionals where required.
To ensure clients receive appropriate professional assistance, KHS Investments and Legal Ltd works alongside:
Independent UK-qualified solicitors who are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
A Solicitors Regulation Authority-registered Registered Foreign Lawyer (RFL)
Overseas advocates and lawyers, including Indian advocates, where matters involve foreign law or overseas proceedings
This collaborative structure allows KHS Investments and Legal Ltd to support clients in a lawful, transparent and structured manner, while ensuring that any work which requires professional legal authorisation is carried out by the correct regulated individual.
The role of KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is limited to providing unregulated support services, coordination, administration, documentation assistance and client liaison. Where a matter involves reserved legal activities, such work is undertaken solely by an authorised and regulated legal professional under their own regulatory framework and terms of engagement.
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is committed to operating with clarity, transparency and regulatory compliance. The company takes care to clearly explain the nature of its services, its regulatory status, and the roles of any third-party legal professionals involved in a client’s matter, so that clients can make informed decisions at all times.
2. Regulatory Status and Authorisation.
2.1 Regulatory Position of KHS Investments and Legal Ltd
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is not authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) in England and Wales. This disclosure is made clearly and prominently in accordance with the SRA Transparency Rules, which require businesses offering legal services or legal support services to explain their regulatory status so that clients can understand what protections apply. KHS Investments and Legal Ltd does not hold itself out as a firm of solicitors, a law firm, or a provider of regulated legal services in its own right.
2.2 What Being “Not SRA Regulated” Means
Because KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is not SRA-regulated: We do not provide reserved legal activities independently We are not subject to the SRA Code of Conduct as a firm We do not hold client money under SRA Accounts RulesClients do not receive SRA regulatory protections in respect of unregulated services provided directly by KHS This does not mean that our services are unlawful or improper. UK law allows businesses to provide unregulated legal support services, provided they do not carry out reserved legal activities.
2.3 Reserved Legal Activities and Legal Restrictions
Certain legal activities in England and Wales are classified as “reserved legal activities” under the Legal Services Act 2007. These activities can only be carried out by authorised individuals or entities.
Reserved legal activities include, among others:
The conduct of litigation
Advocacy before courts or tribunals
Conveyancing
Probate activities
Certain immigration representations
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd does not carry out any reserved legal activities.
2.4 How Regulated Legal Services Are Lawfully Provided

Authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
Acting under their own professional obligations
Covered by their own professional indemnity insurance
Issuing their own client care letters and terms of engagement
In such cases, the solicitor is solely responsible for the legal advice, representation, and conduct of the matter.
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd may assist only with administrative support, coordination, document handling and communication, and does not interfere with the solicitor’s professional judgment.
2.5 Role of Registered Foreign Lawyer (RFL)
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd works with a Registered Foreign Lawyer (RFL) who is registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
The RFL:
Is qualified in a jurisdiction outside England and Wales
Is permitted to provide advice on foreign law
Assists with cross-border legal coordination and advisory support
The RFL does not independently undertake reserved legal activities in England and Wales and works in coordination with authorised solicitors where required.
2.6 Why This Structure Protects Clients
This regulatory structure ensures that:
Clients clearly understand who is responsible for each part of their matter
Regulated legal work is handled only by properly authorised professionals
Clients receive appropriate regulatory protections where applicable
There is no confusion between unregulated support services and regulated legal advice
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is committed to full transparency so that clients can make informed decisions before engaging our services.
2.7 Illustrative Example (Regulatory Clarity)
If a client requires representation before a UK tribunal, a regulated solicitor is instructed directly. The solicitor provides all legal advice and advocacy. KHS Investments and Legal Ltd supports the matter by coordinating documents and communication, but does not represent the client or provide legal opinions.
4. Regulated Legal Services and Reserved Legal Activities
4.1 What Are Regulated (Reserved) Legal Activities?
Under the Legal Services Act 2007, certain legal activities are classified as “reserved legal activities”. These activities may only be carried out by individuals or organisations that are properly authorised and regulated by an approved legal regulator, such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
Reserved legal activities include, but are not limited to:
The conduct of litigation
Advocacy and rights of audience before courts and tribunals
Conveyancing (including the transfer of land or property)
Probate and estate administration
Certain forms of immigration representation
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd does not carry out any reserved legal activities.
4.2 How Regulated Legal Services Are Provided

Authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
Subject to the SRA Code of Conduct
Covered by their own professional indemnity insurance
Responsible for issuing their own client care letters and terms of engagement
In such cases, the solicitor is solely responsible for the legal advice, representation, and professional conduct of the matter.
4.3 Role of KHS Investments and Legal Ltd in Regulated Matters
In matters involving regulated legal services, KHS Investments and Legal Ltd acts only in a supporting and coordinating capacity. Our role may include:
Introducing clients to an appropriate regulated solicitor
Coordinating communication between the client and the solicitor
Assisting with document collection and organisation
Providing administrative and logistical support
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd does not:
Provide legal advice
Exercise professional legal judgment
Represent clients before courts or tribunals
Influence the solicitor’s independent decision-making
4.4 Solicitor–Client Relationship
When a regulated legal service is required:
The solicitor-client relationship exists solely between the client and the instructed solicitor
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is not a party to that legal relationship
The solicitor is fully accountable for compliance with professional and regulatory obligations
Clients will receive a client care letter directly from the solicitor, outlining the scope of work, fees, and complaints procedure.
4.5 Registered Foreign Lawyer (RFL) Coordination
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd works with a Registered Foreign Lawyer (RFL) who is registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
The RFL may:
Provide advisory support on foreign law
Assist with cross-border legal coordination
Liaise between UK solicitors and overseas advocates
The RFL does not independently undertake reserved legal activities in England and Wales and operates within the scope permitted by the SRA.
4.6 Illustrative Examples for Clarity
Example 1: Litigation Matter
If a client requires representation in a UK court or tribunal, a regulated solicitor is instructed. The solicitor provides all legal advice and advocacy. KHS Investments and Legal Ltd assists only with document coordination and communication.
Example 2: Conveyancing Matter
If a client requires conveyancing services, a regulated solicitor or conveyancer is instructed. KHS does not provide conveyancing advice or handle property transfers.
Example 3: Immigration Representation
Where regulated immigration representation is required, an authorised solicitor undertakes the work. KHS provides administrative support only.
4.7 Purpose of This Structure
This structure ensures:
Full compliance with UK law and regulation
Clear accountability for regulated legal services
Protection for clients through appropriate professional safeguards
Transparency regarding the role of KHS Investments and Legal Ltd
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is committed to operating within legal boundaries while ensuring clients have access to authorised legal professionals when required.
5. Solicitor–Client Relationship and Engagement Terms
5.1 No Automatic Solicitor–Client Relationship
Engaging with KHS Investments and Legal Ltd, including through this website, email correspondence, telephone enquiries, meetings or submission of enquiry forms, does not create a solicitor–client relationship.
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is not a law firm and does not act as a solicitor. Any interaction with KHS should be understood as engagement for unregulated support services only, unless and until a regulated solicitor is formally instructed.
5.2 When a Solicitor–Client Relationship Is Created
A solicitor–client relationship arises only when all of the following conditions are met:
A regulated, UK-qualified solicitor agrees to accept instructions
The solicitor issues a formal client care letter or engagement letter
The client accepts the solicitor’s terms of business
Any required identity checks and regulatory formalities are completed
Until these steps are completed, no solicitor–client relationship exists, and no regulated legal advice is being provided.
5.3 Role of KHS in Relation to the Solicitor–Client Relationship
Where a regulated solicitor is instructed, KHS Investments and Legal Ltd:
Is not a party to the solicitor–client contract
Does not supervise, control or influence the solicitor’s legal advice
Does not assume responsibility for the solicitor’s conduct or decisions
KHS may assist only with administrative coordination, communication support and document handling, at the request of the client or solicitor.
5.4 Responsibility for Legal Advice and Representation
All legal advice, representation and regulated legal services are the sole responsibility of the instructed solicitor. This includes:
Legal opinions and advice
Strategic decisions in litigation or arbitration
Advocacy before courts or tribunals
Compliance with professional and regulatory obligations
The solicitor remains fully accountable under their professional indemnity insurance and regulatory framework.
5.5 Practical Illustration
If a client contacts KHS seeking assistance with a dispute, KHS may help organise documents and explain procedural steps in general terms. If the matter requires legal advice or representation, a regulated solicitor is introduced. Only once that solicitor formally accepts instructions does a solicitor–client relationship begin.
5.6 Client Understanding and Acknowledgement
By using the services of KHS Investments and Legal Ltd, clients acknowledge and accept that:
KHS is not acting as a solicitor or law firm
No solicitor–client relationship exists unless formally established with a regulated solicitor
Legal advice is provided only by authorised professionals under their own terms
This clarity protects both clients and KHS Investments and Legal Ltd and ensures transparency at all stages.
6. Registered Foreign Lawyer (RFL) – Role, Scope and Permitted Activities
6.1 Engagement with a Registered Foreign Lawyer
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd works with a Registered Foreign Lawyer (RFL) who is registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) in England and Wales.
A Registered Foreign Lawyer is a legal professional who is qualified in a jurisdiction outside England and Wales and is registered with the SRA to practise in accordance with the SRA Standards and Regulations.
6.2 What a Registered Foreign Lawyer Is Permitted to Do in the UK
In accordance with SRA rules and guidance, a Registered Foreign Lawyer may lawfully undertake the following activities in England and Wales:
Provide legal advice on the law of their home jurisdiction (for example, Indian law)
Provide legal advice on international law
Advise on cross-border legal matters involving foreign law elements
Assist in international arbitration matters, including drafting, advisory work and coordination
Prepare legal documents governed by foreign law
Provide legal opinions on foreign law for use in UK or international proceedings
Support and coordinate multi-jurisdictional legal matters
Work in conjunction with UK-qualified solicitors on matters involving both English law and foreign law
Provide non-reserved legal services relating to English law, where permitted
Act as an intermediary between overseas lawyers and UK solicitors
Assist clients with understanding legal processes across different jurisdictions
These activities are carried out strictly within the scope permitted by the SRA and do not extend to reserved legal activities.
6.3 What a Registered Foreign Lawyer Cannot Do
To ensure regulatory clarity, a Registered Foreign Lawyer:
Does not independently undertake reserved legal activities in England and Wales
Does not conduct litigation in the English courts
Does not exercise rights of audience before courts or tribunals
Does not carry out conveyancing or probate activities
Does not provide English law advice where such advice would constitute a reserved legal activity
Does not hold client money under the SRA Accounts Rules unless separately authorised
Where any of the above activities are required, a UK-qualified, SRA-authorised solicitor is instructed.
6.4 Relationship Between the RFL and UK Solicitors
Where a matter involves both foreign law and English law:
The Registered Foreign Lawyer provides advice and support relating to foreign or international law
The UK-qualified solicitor provides advice and representation on English law and regulated matters
Each professional acts within their own regulatory framework and professional responsibility
This structure ensures full compliance with UK law and SRA regulations while delivering comprehensive cross-border legal support.
6.5 Illustrative Example
If a client is involved in a commercial dispute governed partly by English law and partly by Indian law, the Registered Foreign Lawyer may advise on Indian law issues and assist with strategy and documentation. A UK-qualified solicitor will advise on English law, manage any regulated proceedings, and provide representation where required.
6.6 Client Transparency and Protection
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd ensures that clients are informed when a Registered Foreign Lawyer is involved in their matter and are made aware of:
The jurisdiction of law on which the RFL is advising
The scope and limits of the RFL’s role
When and why a UK solicitor is required
This transparency ensures clients clearly understand the division of responsibilities and the regulatory protections that apply

8. Complaints Handling and Redress Information
8.1 Our Commitment to Fair Complaints Handling
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is committed to providing services in a professional, transparent and fair manner. We recognise that, on occasion, clients may feel dissatisfied with aspects of our service, and we take all complaints seriously.
This section explains how complaints are handled, who is responsible, and where clients should direct their concerns, depending on the nature of the service provided.
8.2 Complaints Relating to Unregulated Services Provided by KHS
If a complaint relates to unregulated services provided directly by KHS Investments and Legal Ltd, such as business support, documentation assistance, compliance support or coordination services, the complaint should be raised with us directly.
Clients are encouraged to submit complaints in writing, providing sufficient detail to allow us to investigate the matter properly.
We aim to:
Acknowledge receipt of a complaint promptly
Review the matter fairly and objectively
Provide a reasoned response within a reasonable timeframe
As KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is not SRA-regulated, complaints relating to unregulated services are not covered by the Legal Ombudsman.
8.3 Complaints Relating to Regulated Legal Services
If a complaint relates to regulated legal services, such as legal advice, representation, litigation, conveyancing, arbitration or immigration representation, the complaint must be raised directly with the instructed solicitor.
This is because:
The solicitor is the regulated professional
The solicitor is responsible for the legal advice and conduct of the matter
The solicitor operates under their own regulatory obligations
The solicitor will provide their own complaints procedure as part of their client care letter.
8.4 Legal Ombudsman and SRA Complaints
Where regulated legal services are involved, clients may be entitled to escalate complaints beyond the solicitor, depending on eligibility and the nature of the issue.
This may include:
The Legal Ombudsman, for service-related complaints
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), for concerns about professional conduct
Eligibility criteria, time limits and procedures are governed by the relevant regulatory bodies and will be explained by the instructed solicitor.
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is not responsible for handling or resolving complaints about regulated legal services.
8.5 Separation of Complaints Responsibility
To avoid confusion:
Complaints about KHS unregulated services → KHS Investments and Legal Ltd
Complaints about regulated legal advice or representation → Instructed solicitor
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd does not investigate or determine complaints relating to the professional conduct of solicitors.
8.6 Practical Example
If a client is unhappy with the clarity of documentation prepared by KHS as part of an unregulated service, the complaint should be directed to KHS Investments and Legal Ltd.
If a client is unhappy with legal advice, court representation or outcome provided by a solicitor, the complaint must be raised with that solicitor under their complaints procedure.
8.7 No Waiver of Legal Rights
Nothing in this complaints section limits or excludes any legal rights that a client may have under applicable law.
8.8 Transparency and Client Understanding
By engaging with KHS Investments and Legal Ltd, clients acknowledge that they understand:
The distinction between unregulated and regulated services
The appropriate complaints route for each type of service
That different regulatory protections apply depending on who provided the service
This clarity protects both clients and service providers and ensures complaints are handled by the correct party.
9. Fees, Charges, Introductions to Regulated Solicitors and Cost Transparency
9.1 Our Commitment to Transparency and Fair Charging
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is committed to transparency, fairness and clarity in all matters relating to fees and charges. We believe clients must clearly understand what services are being provided, who is providing them, how fees are calculated, and who is responsible for payment before any work begins.
This section explains in detail:
How KHS Investments and Legal Ltd charges for its unregulated services
How fees relating to introductions or coordination with regulated solicitors are handled
How solicitor fees are kept separate
How we comply with SRA rules and UK consumer protection law
9.2 Fees for Unregulated Services Provided by KHS Investments and Legal Ltd
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd charges fees only for its own unregulated services. These may include, depending on the nature of the engagement:
Business and commercial consultancy
Documentation and drafting support for non-reserved work
Compliance and internal policy assistance
Immigration administrative support and case coordination
Cross-border coordination and liaison
Administrative case management and document organisation
Initial non-legal assessment of a matter for coordination purposes
Fees may be structured as fixed fees, monthly service packages, project-based fees or agreed hourly rates. The applicable fee structure will be explained clearly to the client before work begins.
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd does not charge for legal advice, advocacy, litigation, conveyancing, arbitration representation or any other reserved legal activity.
9.3 Clear Separation Between Unregulated and Regulated Fees
Where a matter involves both unregulated services provided by KHS and regulated legal services provided by a solicitor:
Fees charged by KHS relate only to unregulated support services
Fees charged by the solicitor relate only to regulated legal services
Clients may therefore receive separate invoices:
One from KHS Investments and Legal Ltd
One from the instructed solicitor
Each party is responsible only for the services it provides.
9.4 Introduction to Regulated Solicitors – Regulatory Position
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd is not authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and does not provide regulated legal services.
Where a client requires a regulated legal service, KHS Investments and Legal Ltd may, at the client’s request, introduce the client to an independent, SRA-authorised solicitor or assist with administrative coordination in connection with such an introduction.
This is done strictly in compliance with:
The Legal Services Act 2007
The SRA Standards and Regulations
UK consumer protection law
9.5 What KHS May Lawfully Charge in Connection With an Introduction
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd may charge a fee only for its own work, which may include:
Time spent understanding the client’s requirements (non-legal)
Identifying a suitable solicitor based on experience and availability
Administrative coordination and communication
Document collation and preparation prior to referral
Ongoing non-legal case coordination at the client’s request
Any such charge is for administrative and coordination services only and is not a charge for legal advice or representation.
9.6 What KHS Will Never Charge For
To ensure regulatory compliance and avoid conflicts of interest, KHS Investments and Legal Ltd will never:
Charge for legal advice or legal opinions
Charge for advocacy or court representation
Charge fees contingent on the outcome of a case
Charge a percentage of damages, settlements or awards
Influence or interfere with a solicitor’s professional judgment
9.7 Referral Fees and Disclosure
In some cases, an instructed solicitor may pay a lawful referral or introduction fee to KHS Investments and Legal Ltd.
Where such an arrangement exists:
It does not affect the solicitor’s independence
It does not increase the client’s legal fees without disclosure
It does not restrict the client’s freedom of choice
Any referral arrangement will be disclosed to the client in writing, in accordance with SRA transparency requirements.
Clients are under no obligation to instruct a solicitor introduced by KHS and remain free to choose a solicitor of their own preference.
9.8 No Control Over Solicitor Fees or Legal Strategy
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd:
Does not set, negotiate or control solicitor fees
Does not supervise or direct legal advice
Does not interfere with legal strategy or case handling
All solicitor fees, billing arrangements, and legal decisions are governed solely by the solicitor’s own client care letter and regulatory obligations.
9.9 Client Choice and Autonomy
Clients retain full autonomy at all times. This includes the right to:
Accept or decline an introduced solicitor
Seek independent legal advice elsewhere
Request disclosure of any referral arrangement
Ask questions about fees before proceeding
KHS Investments and Legal Ltd respects client choice and solicitor independence at all times.
9.10 Practical Illustration
If a client approaches KHS requiring assistance with a commercial dispute, KHS may charge a fixed administrative fee for reviewing documents, organising information and identifying an appropriate solicitor. The solicitor will then issue their own engagement letter and charge legal fees directly to the client. KHS will not charge for the solicitor’s legal work or influence the conduct of the case.
9.11 Consumer Protection and Regulatory Safeguards
Nothing in this section limits or excludes any rights a client may have under UK consumer protection legislation.
This fee structure is designed to:
Ensure transparency
Avoid conflicts of interest
Protect solicitor independence
Comply with SRA standards
Protect clients and service providers alike
